This partnership underscores the Asiri Group’s commitment to promoting health and wellness through innovative and community-driven initiatives.
“Our involvement in this marathon is about more than just financial support,” said Nilanga Abeysinghe, Business Development Manager at Asiri Hospitals. “It’s about ensuring that every participant has access to the highest level of medical care, allowing them to focus on what they do best, running.”
Asiri Hospitals has left no stone unturned in preparing for the ICA International Half Marathon. The extensive pre-event preparations include comprehensive health assessments for participants, first aid training workshops for volunteers, and meticulous logistics coordination to ensure that medical supplies and personnel are strategically placed along the marathon route.
On race day, eight fully equipped first aid stations will be staffed by experienced doctors, nurses, and paramedics, with two ambulances on standby facilitating prompt medical intervention when needed. “Our preparations have been thorough, ensuring that we are ready to respond to any situation that may arise during the marathon,” added Abeysinghe. “We are committed to safeguarding the health and well-being of every participant.”
Asiri Health’s commitment to health and safety extends beyond the marathon itself. The hospital will offer post-race medical evaluations and support for injured participants. In a significant post-event initiative, Asiri Health will continue its partnership with the ICA when it launches a sponsorship program for orphanages across Sri Lanka. This initiative will provide free OPD consultations to over 10,700 children in 360 orphanages, ensuring they receive regular medical check-ups and health education programs.
“This sponsorship is not just a one-time event; it’s a long-term commitment to improving the health outcomes for underprivileged children,” Abeysinghe emphasised. “We hope this move will inspire others to contribute to the well-being of these children and help create a healthier, brighter future for the next generation.”
