Access Real Estate and Access Solar have chosen javelin star Rumesh Tharanga as their brand ambassador.
COLOMBO, July 09, 2026. Access Solar and Access Real Estate/Residencies have officially named elite javelin thrower Rumesh Tharanga as their corporate brand ambassador in a sponsorship understanding running through the 2028 Olympic Games.
Initiated following a special request from the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Hon. Sunil Kumara Gamage, the partnership will provide financial and logistical backing for both Tharanga and his coach. This corporate alliance aims to elevate Sri Lankan sports on the global stage while underscoring the vital connection between corporate backing and athletic excellence.
Tharanga made history in 2025 as the first Sri Lankan male javelin thrower to reach the finals of the World Athletics Championships. With his sights set on international glory, Tharanga stated, “My final target is the 2028 Olympic Games. Before that, I will focus on the 2026 Commonwealth Games and the Asian Games.”
As subsidiaries of the Access Group of Companies, both Access Real Estate, a prominent property developer, and Access Solar, a renewable energy firm, view this partnership as part of their broader commitment to national sports development.
